The following two maps depict the sequence of places in which my Baÿerl family lived. The earliest known place (so far) is Haunswies where my 6G-Grandfather Michael began his family and where 5G-Grandfather Martin was born. Martin's son Johann was born in Edenried and went to Affing where his son Leonhard married Kreszenz Helfer. Their son Joseph went to Dinkelsbühl where he and Karolina had my Great Grandfather Xaver. When Karolina died in 1878, Leonhard appears to have taken his family back to Augsburg. Xaver was 12 at the time. Xaver moves to Nuremberg by 1890 and has my Grandmother Carolina.   Lena and my father Franz come to America in 1925 where I was born in 1946. There have been two generations in America since, but that is another map!

You may click on links in the maps to view supporting records and discussion in a separate window.  I am still backfilling the website, so come back for more information.  The dates reflect marriages and only approximate the year of movement.

[Addendum: These maps need to be updated based on additional informaiton discovered. Michael was born in Aulzhausen, and lived in Frescholtzhausen before moving to Edenried. Martin probably was born 1718 in Freschotzhausen the year before his parents moved to Edenried. My Great Grandfather Xaver probably went directly from his apprenticeship in Dinkelsbühl to Nürnberg.]

I have ordered records and plan to visit the early villages on these maps in hopes of taking the history back further.  Perhaps we will get lucky!  [I did.] I am frankly amazed that I made it this far.
