I think I have the dates right in this series. In the baptismal record above, item #225 describes the baptism on August 18, 1857 of Juliana Rosina Ecker who is indicated as deceased. She was born Sept 1, 1856. Her parents were Friedrich Ecker, the goldsmith here, and his wife Barbara (Bohnenberger). There is a long list of godparents: Johann Rothfuss and his wife Maria, and an Agatha Buhler. There is other text I do not understand. We are told she died 18 Aug 1857 seemingly the same day as the baptism. The death record (below) shows death on Aug 18 and burial Aug 20, 1857. She is the little daughter of Friedrich and Barbara. She was 11 months and 18 days old. The names of witnesses (Zeugen)in the next column are Agatha Buhler again and an undertaker. The last column of remarks (Bemerkungen) points to the baptismal record which is also in 1857. The child must have been in extremis or recently deceased. Had these church records not been found, we might not have learned of the existence of Julianna Rosina and her sister Maria. The maiden name of Friedrich's mother was Juliana Rosina Fisher. This is additional evidence pointing away from the name of Regina entered in the marriage record of Abraham Wilhelm and Hannah. |
